UGHHHMI's Remarkable Mission to Galicia, Rapu-rapu, Albay: A Journey of Faith and Service
Praise God for the success of our Medical, Dental, Humanitarian and Evangelical Mission at Galicia, Rapu-rapu, Albay (Jan. 31 to Feb. 5, 2025). The journey to Galicia was an adventure of faith, beginning with a 24-hour ride and ending with a 28-hour return trip via boat and bus. This was the longest travel experience I’ve had so far, and it was truly memorable. Despite the challenges, our hearts were full of joy and gratitude as we witnessed God's work unfolding before us.
The island of Galicia, known for its seclusion and lack of modern amenities, presented unique challenges. However, with the unwavering support of the GHHHMI Family, led by Ate Marilou Chavez Ancheta, we were able to bring much-needed medical, dental, and humanitarian aid to the residents. Our team worked tirelessly, relying on solar power and batteries to overcome the absence of electricity. The love and compassion shown by our volunteers and the gratitude of the islanders created an atmosphere of hope and renewal.
Thank you so much, Lord, for everything. Your guidance and strength made this mission possible. Thank you so much, GHHHMI Family, for your dedication and hard work. Together, we brought the light of Christ to a remote corner of the world, echoing the words of Matthew 5:16: "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." This experience was a testament to the power of faith, love, and community.
